Remember I said I learnt to crochet? Well on Saturday whilst window shopping with my good friend Emma I saw a gorgeous pair of crocheted fingerless gloves in New Look. (I'd post the photo I took but it's probably a copyright issue?). Imagine my delight upon thinking "I don't have to buy these, I'm going to MAKE some!" So when I got home I found a free patten online and embarked upon a new project. See I told you not to hold your breath about the poncho for Brooke, I only have a pattern I love for that in a too small size. Anyway I'm sitting here now with one wrist done and have started increasing for the thumb hole. I love it, and I have a bar of Galaxy hazelnut. Life is good, even though the Cumberland sausage in my tummy now looks like it's sitting on a bed of mashed potato. On another note, this weekend I redeemed 2010's Tesco clubcard vouchers to date in their "double your rewards" promotion. (I'm sure it had a catchier name than that which escapes me). Whilst the administration of the scheme has clearly been a total cock up, post order service has been amazing with HDN texting me to tell me when my parcels would arrive, and then actually delivering them when they said they would, with orders placed late Saturday night arriving first thing today. Anyway, two great big cardboard boxes bore all the goodies so you can imagine what the girls enjoyed playing in, on and with today. Everyone's a winner!
Now why......when I've been trying to understand the totally unhelpful diagrams in Learn to Crochet books for years, searched without success for aeons for ANYONE that could show me exactly where to stick my hook once I've made a foundation chain so that I can do rows or rounds, and have finally after light years of searching for one managed to book myself onto a one day Learn to Crochet workshop.......tell me why are you the THIRD person TODAY to tell me that they know how to crochet???

Ah it's obviously the craft du jour and I'm just the latest on the bandwagon! If we could get together I could save you the course fee... have you tried the videos on youtube? I've mastered all the trickier points with that! Anyway, be interested to know how the course is, I have to admit I am surprised you can't crochet already, given how crafty and creative you are!
